What does it mean to ask for what you want?
It means to make an emotional connection to your desires.
Make them matter. Give them meaning. Feel them. Make a commitment to them.

Most of us ask for what we want with half a heart (if that), full of hesitation, and disbelief.
We almost always hedge our bets. We say to ourselves “I don’t really want that”, so when it fails to show up, we can say “No problem. I didn’t really want it anyway.”

As you change, your goals and passions will change and grow. Getting clear on what your passions are is key to building and maintaining the motivation to reach your dreams.

The Controversy over the Law of Attraction

Have you seen The Secret, or read the book?
There’s a lot of buzz about it, particularly after Oprah did a show on it.

The Secret is all about The Law of Attraction.
This is an idea that has been around in many forms, under many names, throughout human history.

What is The Law of Attraction?
The Law of Attraction (LOA) says that you and I shape our lives and our reality by the goals and desires that fill our heart and mind. To maximize the power of the LOA we try to feel with all of our hearts that our desires are possible, and we use our imagination to “see” that those things will come to us .
The modern presentation of these ideas relies on Quantum Physics.

Brave Enough to be Different

I was listening to an interview yesterday with Art Linklater.

Yes, he’s still alive (for those of you who know who he is), and he’s going strong at 94. He’s involved in many businesses, writing, and still travels extensively to speak.

He loves to interview people (old and young), and capture their unique perspective. One thing that old people and very young children have in common, he says, is that they’re not afraid to say what they think.

I love listening to people when they really say what’s on their mind.
You may not like it, or agree with it, but it’s real, and has feeling behind it, and has power.
